Contradictions amongst scholars with regards to classification

Question:

Are the classifications of the scholars in agreement or in contradiction to each other?

Answer:

Muhammad Ibn Ya’qub Al-Kulaini writes: “You longed to have a book that is sufficient and completely embodies the knowledge of belief, (a book) that satisfies those, who want to acquire knowledge, (a book) to which those who seek guidance refer to, (a book) from which those take, that strive for the knowledge of belief as well as the following of it, through the traditions of the truthful (a. ), which are authentic (Sahih) and the truthful traditions, to which the obedience is obligatory and (a book) to which the obligations of God and the Sunnah of His Prophet (s.) are fulfilled. God – and the praise is due to him – enabled me to create (a book) that you have asked for and i hope that it will do justice to what you long for.” [Al-Kafi, Volume 1 Page 8-9]

Comment:

The assumptions of the scholars are of no use with regard to the orders of the Prophet (s.) in dealing with the traditions.

The Qur’an says:

“They follow only assumptions. But assumptions are of no use when it comes to the truth.” [An-Najm 53:28]
