Sahl Ibn Ziyad Ar-Razi

Abu Ja’far At-Tusi writes:“Sahl Ibn Ziyad Al-Adami Ar-Razi with the epithet Abu Sa’id is weak (Da’if) and has a book that Ibn Abi Junaid narrated to us from Muhammad Ibn Al-Hasan, who narrated it from Muhammad Ibn Yahya, who narrated it from Muhammad Ibn Ahmad Ibn Yahya and Muhammad Ibn Al-Hasan Ibn Al-Walid and Al-Himyari narrated it from Ahmad Ibn Abi Abdillah.” [Al-Fihrist, page 80]
Abu Ja’far At-Tusi writes: “Sahl Ibn Ziyad Al-Adami, who bears the epithet Abu Sa’id Ar-Razi, is trustworthy (Thiqah).” [Ar-Rijal, page 387]
Comment:
There is no contradiction in the fact that At-Tusi calls him “weak” (Da’if) and “trustworthy” (Thiqah), because he also says “weak” when a narrator gives different answers to the same issue, while still sticking to its tradition and making judgments from it [Here]
Muhammad Baqir Al-Majlisi writes: “Being spread as weak (Da’if).” [Mir’at-ul-Uqul, Volume 1 Page 76 Hadith 16]

Muhammad Baqir Al-Majlisi writes: “Sahl Ibn Ziyad is weak (Da’if) and since he is one of the recognized teachers, in my opinion, his weakness does not harm him.” [Ar-Rijal, page 224 number 870]

Muhammad Baqir Al-Majlisi writes: “Authentic (Sahih).” [Mir’at-ul-Uqul, Volume 2 Page 349 Hadith 6]
Abu Al-Husain Al-Ghada’iri writes: “Sahl Ibn Ziyad with the epithet Abu Sa’id Al-Adami Ar-Razi was very weak (Da’if) and corrupt (Fasid) in tradition and religion. Ahmad Ibn Muhammad Ibn Isa Al-Ash’ari threw him out of Qum and publicly renounced him and forbade the people to hear from him and to transmit.” [Ar-Rijal, page 67]

Abu Al-Qasim Al-Khu’i writes: “As a result, the book (Ar-Rijal) attributed to Ibn Al-Ghada’iri has been found to be unauthentic. Rather, some of them are certain that it is a lie (Mawdu’) and that our opponents fabricated it and attributed it to Ibn Al-Ghada’iri.” [Mu’jam Rijal Al-Hadith, Volume 1 Page 96]
