Everyone is wiser than Umar and Umar is wiser than the prophet?

Muhammad Ibn Ali Ash-Shawkani writes:

“Sa’id Ibn Mansur and Abu Ya’la narrated, about which As-Suyuti said “with a good chain” that Umar forbade the people to give more than four hundred pieces of silver to the women as a bridal gift. Then a woman from the Quraish opposed him, saying: “Did you not hear what God revealed? He said: ” For one of them, a hundredweight.” (4:20) Then he said: “O God, forgive. All people are wiser than Umar.” Then he climbed up the pulpit and said: “O you people, I forbade you to give the women more than four hundred pieces of silver as a bridal gift. Whoever wanted to, give of his property what was dear to him.” Abu Ya’la said: “I mean that he said: “To whom it pleased, let him do so.” Ibn Kathir said: “Its chain is good, strong.” And this event was reported in different wordings. This is one of them.” [Fath-ul-Qadir, page 283]

Muhammad Ibn Ahmad As-Sarakhsi writes:

“When Umar, may God be pleased with him, said in his sermon: “Do not exaggerate in the bridal gift for women.” A woman with tanned cheeks said: “You speak from your own opinion. Or did you hear that from the messenger of God (s.)? For we find in the scripture of God the opposite of what you are saying.” God said: “If you desire the exchange of a partner in place of another partner, and one of them gave a hundredweight, take nothing of it. Do you take it with insinuation and clear sin?” (4:20) Then Umar, may God be pleased with him, remained speechless and said: “All people are wiser than Umar. Even the women at home.” [Al-Mabsut, volume 10, pages 152 – 153]

Muhammad Ibn Isma’il Al-Bukhari writes:

Yahya Ibn Bakir reported to us, who said: “Al-Laith reported to us,” who said: “Uqail reported to me from Ibn Shihab, from Urwah, from A’ishah that the wives of the Prophet (s.) used to go out to al-Masani’, which is a fragrant highland, at night when they were defecating. So Umar told the Prophet (s.): “Let your wives wear a veil.” But the messenger of God (s.) did not do this. Then Sawdah Bint Zam’ah, the wife of the Prophet (s.), went out one night and she was a tall woman. Then Umar called out to her: “Behold, we have recognized you, O Sawdah.” Out of a desire for the veiling to be revealed. Therefore God revealed the verse about the veiling.” [Sahih-ul-Bukhari, page 50]

Muhammad Ibn Isa At-Tirmidhi writes:

“Salamah Ibn Shabib reported to us, who said: To us Al-Muqri’ reported from Haiwah Ibn Shuraih, from Bakr Ibn Amr, from Mishrah Ibn Ha’an, from Uqbah Ibn Amir, that the Messenger of God (s.) said: “If there were a prophet after me, that would be Umar Ibnu l-Khattab.” This saying is good (Hasan), rare. We know it only from Mishrah Ibn Ha’an.” [Sunan-ut-Tirmidhi, page 836, Hadith 3686]
