Ibn Awramah reported that Yunus said: “I said to Abu l-Hasan Ar-Rida (a.) or wrote to him: ๏ดพPeople are asking me for the name of Hasan (a.) in the Book of God. But I lack the knowledge about it.๏ดฟ Then he said: ๏ดพYet it is the word of God: “Whoever obeys God and the Messenger, those are with those whom God has shown mercy from the prophets, the truthful, the witnesses and the righteous and Hasan. Those as companions.” (4:69) This is exactly how it was revealed.๏ดฟ” [Al-Qira’at of As-Sayyari, page 42, hadith 155]

Ibn-ul-Juham reported that Imam Ali (a.) said: “O Messenger of God, can we visit you in Paradise as many times as we want?” He said: “O Ali, every Prophet has a companion. The first one, who submitted from his nation.” Thereupon this verse was revealed: ๏ดพThose are with those whom God has shown mercy from among the prophets, the truthful, the witnesses and the righteous and how good those are as companions.๏ดฟ (4:69) Then the Messenger of God (s.) called Ali, whereupon he said to him: “God has revealed the explanation of what you asked for. So He made you my companion, for you are the first, to submit and you are the most truthful.” [Al-Bihar of Al-Majlisi, vol. 38, p. 247, hadith 41]

Sulaiman Al-Minqari reported that Hafs Ibn Ghayyath said: “I asked Abu Abdillah (As-Sadiq) about the abstinent from among the people. Then he said: ๏ดพHe who abstains from that which is forbidden by God.๏ดฟ” [Al-Bihar of Al-Majlisi, Vol. 67, page 299, Hadith 8.]

Abu s-Sabbah Al-Kinani reported that Imam Al-Baqir (a.) said: “Assist us through abstinence, for whoever of you meets God with abstinence will be granted salvation by God. God says: ๏ดพWhoever obeys God and the Messenger, those are with those whom God has shown mercy from among the prophets, the truthful, the witnesses and the righteous and how good those are as companions.๏ดฟ (4:69) So from us is the prophet and from us the truthful and the witnesses and the righteous.” [Al-Bihar of Al-Majlisi, Volume 67, Page 301, Hadith 11]

Ali ibn Hazawwar reported that Asbagh ibn Nubatah said: “I saw the Commander of the Believers (a.) on the day he conquered Basrah and rode on the mule of the Messenger of God (s.). Hereupon he said: ๏ดพO you people, shall I not inform you about the best of creatures on the day which God will gather them?๏ดฟ Then Abu Ayyub Al-Ansari went to him, whereupon he said: ๏ดพ O Commander of the Believers. Tell us, for you were present and we were absent.๏ดฟ So he said: ๏ดพThe best creatures are seven from the progeny of Abd-ul-Muttalib. None denies their merit except an unbeliever, and none denies it except for a rejector.๏ดฟ Then Ammar ibn Yasir stood up, whereupon he said: ๏ดพO Commander of the believers, name them to us that we may know them. ๏ดฟ So he said: ๏ดพThe best creatures on the day when God gathers them are the messengers and the best of the messengers is Muhammad and the best of each nation after its prophet is the representative of its prophet until a prophet catches up with him. Behold, the best of the representatives are the representatives of Muhammad (s.). Behold, the best creatures after the representatives are the witnesses. Behold, the best of the witnesses are Hamzah Ibn Abdi l-Muttalib and Ja’far Ibn Abi Talib. He has two colored wings with which he flies in Paradise. From this nation, no one else was given two wings except for him. Something with which God valued Muhammad (s.) and honored him and the two grandsons, Hasan and Husain and the Rightly Guided (Mahdi). God does it to the one, whom He wants from us the people of the House.๏ดฟ Hereupon he read this verse: ๏ดพWhoever obeys God and the Messenger, those are with those whom God has shown mercy from the prophets, truthful, witnesses and righteous and how good those are as companions. Abu Basir reported that Imam As-Sadiq (a.) said: “God has mentioned you in His Book. Thus He said: ๏ดพWhoever obeys God and the Messenger, those are with those whom God has shown mercy from the prophets, the truthful, the witnesses and the righteous and how good those are as companions.๏ดฟ (4:69) Thus Muhammad (s.) is the prophets and we are the truthful and the witnesses and you are the righteous. So let yourselves be named as the righteous ones as God has named you, for, by God, He meant none but you. Have I now cheered you up?” [Al-Bihar of Al-Majlisi, Volume 47, Page 392, Hadith 114]

Husain Ibn Ali reported that Imam Ali (a.) said: “Someone from the helpers came to the Prophet (s.), whereupon he said: ๏ดพO Messenger of God, I am not able to separate from you and I certainly enter my shelter, whereupon I think of you. So I refrain from my work and come to look at you for the love of you. Then I remember that when the day of resurrection arrives and you are taken to paradise, whereupon you are lifted up to the highest heights, how about me with you, O prophet of God?๏ดฟ Then God revealed: ๏ดพWhoever obeys God and the Messenger, those are with those whom God has shown mercy from among the prophets, the truthful, the witnesses and the righteous and how good those are as companions.๏ดฟ (4:69) So the Prophet (s.) called the person, whereupon he read it to him and gave him the glad tidings of it.” [Al-Bihar of Al-Majlisi, Volume 65, Page 70, Hadith 127]

Husain Ibn Ali (a.) reported that Imam Ali (a.) said: “The Riser (Qa’im) from among us has a concealment that lasts for a long time. It is as if I see the followers. They roam around like the roaming of the cattle. They are looking for a pasture. But they do not find it. Behold, whoever of them holds fast to his religion while his heart does not harden because of the long duration of the concealment of his Imam (a.), he is with me in my stage on the Day of Resurrection.” Then he said: “When the Riser (Qa’im) rises from us, he has no oath of allegiance on his neck. Abdullah ibn Abbas reported that Prophet Muhammad (s.) was asked: “Teach me about the way of death of Ali, Hasan, and Husain.” He said: “Ali is killed with a blow on his head, Hasan is killed with poison and Husain is killed through slaughter.” Then one said: “Where then is their place?” He said: “In Paradise in my stage.” [Ilzam-un-Nasib of Al-Ha’iri, Volume 1, Page 170.]

Yusuf ibn Imran reported that Mitham An-Nahrawani said: “The Commander of the Believers called me and said: ๏ดพWhat about you, O Mitham, when the bastard of the Children of Umayyah, Ubaidullah ibn Ziyad, calls you to distance (Bara’ah) from me?๏ดฟ Then I said: ๏ดพO Commander of the Believers, I do not distance myself from you.๏ดฟ He said: ๏ดพThen, by God, you will be killed and crucified.๏ดฟ He said: ๏ดพThen, by God, you will be killed and crucified.๏ดฟ I said: ๏ดพI will endure it, for that is small for the sake of God.๏ดฟ Then he said: ๏ดพO Mitham, you will be with me in my stage.๏ดฟ” [Al-Bihar of Al-Majlisi, Volume 42, Page 130, Hadith 13.]

Jabir reported that Prophet Muhammad (s.) said: “Be of a cheerful mind, O Ali. Al-Harawi reported that Imam Ar-Rida (a.) was asked: “O son of the Messenger of God, this grave that is in Tus, whose grave is it?” Whereupon Ar-Rida (a.) said: “My grave and the days and nights do not pass until Tus becomes a place of gathering for my followers and visitors. Nawf Al-Bakali reported that Imam Ali (a.) said: “O Nawf, if you desire to be with me on the Day of Resurrection, then do not be a supporter of the unjust. Ali Ibn Abi Talib (a.) reported that Prophet Muhammad (s.) said: “Sha’ban is my month and the month of Ramadan is the month of God. So whoever fasts one day of my month, he is awarded Paradise and whoever fasts two days of it, he is one of the companions of the prophets, the truthful, the witnesses and the righteous on the day of resurrection (4:69) and whoever fasts three days, he is with me in my stage on the day of resurrection and whoever fasts the whole month and connects it to the month of Ramadan, it is a repentance from every sin, small or great, even if it is of forbidden blood.” [Al-Fada’il of As-Saduq, page 116, hadith 110]

Fathullah reported that Prophet Muhammad (s.) said: “Whoever enters into the temporary partnership once, his stage is like the stage of Husain and whoever enters into it twice, his stage is like the stage of Hasan and whoever enters into it three times, his stage is like the stage of Ali Ibn Abi Talib and whoever enters into it four times, his stage is like my stage.” [Manhaj-us-Sadiqin of Al-Kashani, Volume 2, Page 493]

Muhammad ibn Hasan reported that Anas ibn Malik said: “The Messenger of God (s) led us in the morning prayer for a few days. Then he came to us with his noble face. So I said: ๏ดพCan you interpret His word to us: “Whoever obeys God and the Messenger, those are with those whom God has shown mercy from the prophets, the truthful, the witnesses and the righteous and how good those are as companions. “๏ดฟ (4:69) Then he said: ๏ดพAs for the prophets, that is me, as for the truthful, that is my brother Ali, as for the witnesses, that is my uncle Hamzah and as for the righteous, that is my daughter Fatimah and her offspring Hasan and Husain.๏ดฟ He said: ๏ดพAbbas was present. Then he jumped up and sat before the Messenger of God (s.) and said: ๏ดพDoes not me, you, Ali, Fatimah, Hasan, and Husain come from one source?๏ดฟ He said: ๏ดพWhat is this about, O uncle?๏ดฟ He said: ๏ดพBecause you recognize Ali, Fatimah, Hasan, and Husain while ignoring us.๏ดฟ” He said: “Then the Prophet (s.) smiled and said: ๏ดพAs for your word, O uncle: “Do we not come from one source?” So you are right. However, O uncle, God created me and Ali and Fatimah and Hasan and Husain before He created Adam, when there was neither an erected sky, nor a flat ground, nor darkness, nor light, nor sun, nor moon, nor paradise, nor fire. ๏ดฟ So Abbas said: ๏ดพHow was the beginning of your creation, O Messenger of God?๏ดฟ Then he said: ๏ดพO uncle, when God was about to create us, He said one word. From it He created a light. Then He said another word. So He created from it a spirit. Then He mixed the light with the spirit. Thus He created me, Ali, Fatimah, Hasan and Husain. Then we used to praise Him when there was no praise and sanctify Him when there was no sanctification. When God wanted to bring forth the creation, He separated my light. So He created the throne from it. So the throne is from my light and my light is from the light of God and my light is better than the throne. Then He separated the light from my brother Ali. So He created from him the angels. So the angels are from the light of my brother Ali and the light of Ali is from the light of God and Ali is better than the angels. Then He separated the light of my daughter. So He created from it the heavens and the earth. So the heavens and the earth are from the light of my daughter Fatimah and the light of my daughter Fatimah is from the light of God and my daughter Fatimah is better than the heavens and the earth. Then He separated the light of my son Hasan and created from him the sun and the moon. Thus, the sun and the moon are from the light of my son Hasan and the light of my son Hasan is from the light of God and Hasan is better than the sun and the moon. Then He separated the light of my son Husain. So He created from him the Paradise and the women of Paradise. Thus, Paradise and the women of Paradise are from the light of my son Husain and the light of my son Husain is from the light of God. Thus, my son Husain is better than Paradise and the women of Paradise. Thereupon God told the darknesses to go past the visible clouds. Thus the heavens darkened for the angels. Then the angels burst out in loud sanctification and praise and said:”Our God and Lord, since You created us and made these appearances known to us, we have seen no misfortune. By the right of these appearances, just let this darkness depart from us.” Then God made from the light of my daughter Fatimah come forth a candlestick. So He put them up inside the throne. Then the heavens and the earth shone. Hereupon she shone by her light. Therefore, she was called the Radiant One (Zahra’). So the angels said: “Our God and Lord, to whom does this radiant light belong, by which the heavens and the earth were shining?” Then God revealed to them: “This is a light which I created from the Light of My Majesty for My servant Fatimah, the daughter of My beloved and the spouse of My close one, brother of My Prophet and father of My proofs to My servants in My localities. I take you to witness that until the Day of Resurrection, I have awarded the reward of your praise and sanctification to this woman and her followers and lovers.๏ดฟ” He said: “When Abbas heard that from the Messenger of God (s. ), he jumped up and kissed the forehead of Ali and said: ๏ดพO Ali, you are the most conclusive proof of the one who believed in God and the Last Day.๏ดฟ” [Al-Bihar of Al-Majlisi, Volume 37, Page 82 – 84, Hadith 51]
