Do all the people of other faiths go to hell or not?

Husain An-Nuri At-Tabarsi writes:

“Thirdly, we say upon this, that what emerges from the contents of the traditions, consists, in the fact that Paradise is excluded from the associates (Mushrik) and the denying disbelievers (Kafir). As for those, who in some traditions come under its judgment, from these traditions it does not appear that it applies to them in their entirety. Although not entering the well known Paradise does not imply that one enters the Fire, for God, can forgive some of them and create for them something other than Paradise wherein they are comfortable.”

“And in Al-Kafi, from As-Sadiq (a.): ﴾A believer stayed in the realm of a ruler. So he reviled him, whereupon he fled from him to the region of the association (Shirk). He came to stay with one of the companions, who protected him, helped him, and gave him hospitality. When he died, God revealed to him: ﴾By My honor and majesty, if I had a place for you to stay in My paradise, I would place you in it, but it is denied to the one who died as an associate (mushrik). Nevertheless, O Fire, shoo him out and do not harm him and he receives his provision in two parts of the day.﴿ I said: ﴾From the Paradise.﴿ He said: ﴾From wherever God wills.﴿”

“And in Thawab-ul-A’mal, with his chain to Ali Ibn Yaqtin who said: Abu l-Hasan Musa Ibn Ja’far (a.) said: ﴾Among the Children of Israel there was a believing person, who had an unbelieving neighbor and he treated him kindly and did good to him in this world. When the unbeliever died, God built for him a dwelling place of clay in the fire. Thus, He protected him from its heat and its provision came to him outside of it and it was said to him: “This is for treating your believing neighbor, the son of so-and-so, kindly and doing good to him in this world.﴿”

“And at the end of the book of Abu Ja’far Muhammad Ibn Muthanna Abi l-Qasim Al-Hadrami, from what the elder, Abu Muhammad Harun Ibn Musa At-Talla’ukbari, narrated and added to him, from Ibn Hammam, from Humaid Ibn Ziyad and Muhammad Ibn Ja’far Ar-Razzaz Al-Qurashi, from Yahya Ibn Zakariyya Al-Lu’lu’i, who said: We were told by Muhammad Ibn Ahmad Ibn Harun Al-Harrar, by Muhammad Ibn Ali As-Sairafi, by Muhammad Ibn Sinan, by Mufaddal Ibn Umar, by Jabir Al-Ju’fi, by someone that Jabir Ibn Abdillah said: ﴾The Commander of the Faithful (a. ) had a Jewish companion.﴿ He (Jabir) said: ﴾And he liked him very much and when he had a matter, he helped him with it. After this, the Jew passed away. Then he mourned for him and he was struck with desolation.﴿”

“He said: ﴾Then the Prophet (s.) turned to him while he was laughing. Then he said to him: “O Abu l-Hasan, what did your Jewish companion do?”﴿ He (Ali) said: ﴾I said: “He passed away.” He said: “Did you become sad because of him and did desolation befall you over him?”﴿ He (Ali) said: ﴾I said: “Yes, O Messenger of God.” He said: “Would you like to see him happy?”﴿ He (Ali) said: ﴾I said: “Yes, may my father and mother be sacrificed to you.” He said: “Raise your head.”﴿ Then the fourth heaven was revealed to him. So behold, he found himself unexpectedly in a dome of green peridot hanging from a pitcher. Then he said to him: ﴾O Abu l-Hasan, this is for him from the people of the surety, of the Jews, the Nazarenes and the Zoroastrians, who loves you and your believing followers will be in Paradise tomorrow together with me and you.﴿ And this area is extensive. If we were to delve into the treatise of it, we would be leaving the purpose of the book.” [Khatimat-ul-Mustadrak, Vol. 5, page 18-20.]
