Muhammad ibn Ali reported, that the Messenger (s.) passed by some women: ,,Hereupon he stopped and said: ๏ดพO you women, I did not see any people of deficient reason and religion, that make reasonable people lose their minds more than you. I saw, that you are in the majority on the Day of Resurrection as inhabitants of the fire, so come close to God as you are able.๏ดฟ At this, a woman of them said: ๏ดพWhat is the deficiency of our religion and reason? ๏ดฟ He said: ๏ดพAs for the lack of your religion, it is the bleeding, that afflicts you and lasts with one of you for as long, as God willed, neither performing prayer nor participating in fasting and as for the lack of your reason, it is your testimony. The testimony of the woman is only half of the testimony of the man.๏ดฟ” [Al-Faqih of As-Saduq, Volume 3, Page 391, Hadith 4375]

Jabir Al-Ju’fi reported, that Imam Al-Baqir (a.) said: ,,The Messenger of God (s.) went out to the back of Medina on the Feast of Sacrifice, sitting on a camel, whose body was not covered. Hereupon he passed by the women and stopped by them. After that he said: ๏ดพO you women, spend and obey your partners, for the majority of you are in the fire.๏ดฟ When they heard this, they wept. Then a woman of them came before him and said: ๏ดพO Messenger of God, in the fire with the disbelievers? By God, we are not disbelievers, so that we should be among the inhabitants of the Fire.๏ดฟ Then God’s Messenger (s.) said to her: ๏ดพYou are disbelievers in the right of your partners.๏ดฟ” [Al-Kafi of Al-Kulaini, Volume 5, page 310 – 311, Hadith 3]

Abu Basir reported, that Imam As-Sadiq (a.) said: ,,The Messenger (s.) of God addressed the women and said: ๏ดพO you women, spend, even if it is from your jewelry, even if it is a date, even if it is a piece of date, for the majority of you are firewood for Hell. You curse much and are disbelieving towards the relatives.๏ดฟ Hereupon a wise woman from the sons of Sulaim said: ๏ดพO Messenger of God, are we not the mothers, the pregnant women and the nursing women? Do not the supportive daughters and compassionate sisters come from us?๏ดฟ Hereupon the Messenger of God (s.) took pity on her and said: ๏ดพPregnant and nursing merciful mothers. Muhammad Taqi Al-Majlisi writes: ,,Al-Fudail narrated it just as strongly (Qawi), as it is authentic (Sahih). The Imam (a.) said: ๏ดพHow is that?๏ดฟ By which is meant: ๏ดพWhen and how will that be, the circumstance being such, that it may come to partnership?๏ดฟ It is conceivable that the distancing is in response to his saying: ๏ดพThe majority of the inhabitants of the Fire are women.๏ดฟ Whereas that is not the case, but the majority of the women are dwellers of the Fire, as it preceded and between the two statements there is a huge difference or Al-Fudail thought that not a single woman enters Paradise or only a minority, whereupon he removed his assumption by saying that many women enter Paradise.” [Sharh-ul-Faqih, volume 8, page 515]

Hamzah Ibn Tayyar reported, that Imam As-Sadiq (a.) said: ,,All people are in three divisions: Faith (Iman), disbelief (Kufr) and misguidance (Dalal) and they are the people who have been promised two things, those to whom God promised Paradise and Fire: the believers, disbelievers and those considered weak (Mustad’af) and those left to the decree of God, whom He either punishes or has mercy on them and the confessors to their sins, who mixed a good deed with a bad one and the people of the height.” [Al-Kafi of Al-Kulaini, Volume 2, Page 215, Hadith 2]

Comment:

The texts does not reveal, how many women are in hell. Also if there are 1 million males and 3milion females, obviously it is easier for women to be majority in hellfire. Hence, we can not conclude women to be some evil creatures and men to be more superior.ย
