At sleep God takes the soul and at death the spirit

Thabit Ibn Hurmuz reported, that Imam Al-Baqir (a.) said:,,There is no one who sleeps, except that his soul (nafs) is lifted up to the sky while his spirit (Ruh) remains in his body and between the two of them there is a relationship like the rays of the sun. When God gives permission to take the spirits, the spirit and the soul answer and when God gives permission for the spirit to respond, the soul and the spirit answer and this is His word: ๏ดพGod calls away the souls at their death and those, who did not die, during their sleep.๏ดฟ (39:42) Whatever they saw in the realm of the heavens, there is an interpretation for that and whatever they saw between the heavens and the earth then that is from satan and there is no interpretation for that.” [Bihar-ul-Anwar of Al-Majlisi, Vol. 58, Page 27]

Muhammad Ibn Ali As-Saduq writes: ,,Except for the matter of Jesus (a.), the son of Mary (a.), no matter of any of the prophets of God and His proofs to the people remained unclear, for he was lifted alive from the earth and his spirit (Ruh) was taken from him between heaven and earth. Muhammad ibn Ali reported that Imam As-Sadiq (a.) said: ,,When the spirit (Ruh) is taken, it remains over the body. The spirit of a believer and of others. He sees everything that is done to him. Then, when you wrap him in the shroud and put him on the stretcher and you carry him at the necks of the people, the spirit returns to him. Thus it goes into him, whereupon wide vision is given to him. There he sees his place in the paradise or in the fire. When he is one of the people of paradise, he shouts with his loudest voice: ๏ดพHurry up with me. Hurry up with me.๏ดฟ But if he belongs to the people of fire: ๏ดพBring me back. Sulaiman Ad-Dailami reported that Sadir As-Sairafi said: ,,I said to Abu Abdillah (As-Sadiq): ๏ดพMy life be sacrificed to you, O son of the Messenger of God. Is the believer’s spirit (Ruh) taken away with force?๏ดฟ He said: ๏ดพNo, by God. When the angel of death appears to him to take away his spirit, he becomes sad. Thus, the angel of death says to him: ,,O near one of God, do not be sad, for by Him who sent Muhammad (s.), we are kinder and more merciful to you than a merciful father if he were with you. Open your eyes. So look now.๏ดฟ He said: ๏ดพThen the Messenger of God (s.), the Commander of the Faithful, Fatimah, Hasan, Husain, and the Imams (a.) from their progeny appear to him. So they say to him: ,,These are the Messenger of God, the Commander of the Faithful, Fatimah, Hasan, Husain, and the Imams, your companions.”๏ดฟ He said: ๏ดพSo he opens his eyes, whereupon a caller from the venerable Lord calls out to his spirit. Then he says: ๏ดพO soul who finds rest with Muhammad and the people of his house, return to your Lord satisfied with leadership and pleased with reward. So enter among My servants, Muhammad as well as the people of his house and enter My Paradise.” (89:27-30) Thus, there is nothing that is dearer to him than the deprivation of his spirit (Ruh) and joining the caller.๏ดฟ” [Bihar-ul-Anwar of Al-Majlisi, Volume 6, Page 196, Hadith 49]
